The Wonders of Springtime in Northern Italy

Are you feeling the itch to travel again? Do you want to explore new places, try new foods, and experience a different culture? Then why not consider Italy in the springtime?

We at Italian Delights Tours firmly believe that Spring is the best time to experience Italy. In Northern Italy spring brings to life its stunning landscapes, rich history, and delicious cuisines. This is why Italian Delights tours run most of our tours in Spring and early summer!

Here are some reasons why you should travel to Italy in the spring:

Lovely weather:

Italy in the spring is not too hot and not too cold. The temperatures are mild, and there is plenty of sunshine. This makes it an ideal time to explore the cities, stroll through the countryside, and enjoy the beaches.

Fewer crowds:

Spring is shoulder season in Italy, which means that there are fewer tourists than in the summer months. This makes it easier to get around and enjoy all the attractions without the crowds.

Beautiful scenery:

Italy is famous for its beautiful landscapes. In spring the countryside comes alive with wildflowers, lush greenery, and blossoming trees. The hills and valleys of Piedmont, the lakes of the Lombardy, and the Ligurian Coast are just a few examples of the stunning scenery you can enjoy with us during Spring without the crowds.

Festivals and events:

Italians love to celebrate. And in the spring, there are plenty of festivals and events to enjoy. For example, in the last week here we have enjoyed 3 festivals in nearby towns. A few weeks ago, Varzi (where most of our tours are based), had its major festival for the year, and in a couple of weeks’ time it will celebrate its beloved and famous Salame di Varzi, by throwing another 3-day festa called the “Festa del Salame”! Only two weeks after this festa, there’s another 10-day celebration of music and theatre here called the Festa di Varzi. When staying here, our guests get to experience these unique and novel local festivities.

Food and wine:

Italian cuisine is world-renowned. And in the spring, you can enjoy some of the freshest and most delicious produce. Asparagus, artichokes, fava beans, and peas are just a few of the seasonal ingredients you can try at this time of the year in Northern Italy. And of course on tour we also offer many opportunities to enjoy Piedmont and Lombardy’s amazing wines and stunningly beautiful wine regions.

Cultural experiences:

Italy is a country with a rich history and culture. In the spring you can explore the museums, galleries, and historical sites without the summer crowds. From the ancient ruins of Rome to the art of Florence, there is something for everyone here in Italy.

Mint ice cream dessert, vibrant garden, aged building, rolling hills, narrow alley, and a coastal town scene.

So why not plan your trip to Italy in the spring? With perfect weather, fewer crowds, beautiful scenery, festivals and events, delicious food and wine, and cultural experiences, it's the perfect time to explore this amazing country with us on tour!
