Unforgettable Dining Experience at Ra Canva da Berto

A rustic charcuterie spread with cheeses, cured meats, bread, and preserves on wooden boards.

The photo above is just a small part of the hospitality shown to guests dining at Ra Canva da Berto. On entering the rustic foyer of Ra Canva, you are greeted by welcoming hosts and offered a cheese and salame tasting to whet your appetite. This is just a start to the wonderful variety of homemade delights to come.

We can thank the skilled cook Maria Adelaide Giorgetti, who is the great-granddaughter of the original builder of the house where Ra Canva is situated. She is not professionally trained but offers up to her guests everything she has learned from her grandmothers and mother since childhood. Maria makes pasta, ravioli, bread, and cakes without the support of machinery!

The farmhouse Ra Cànva da Berto, is located in a house built in 1864 by Giovanni Battista Giorgetti, the ancestor of the current owners.

In the 1950s, the building served as a food shop, tobacconist, and tavern, catering to soldiers from nearby summer camps in Reganzo and Torrone.

By the 1960s, one room became the village elementary school, but in the 1970s, young people began leaving the countryside for other opportunities. Little by little the country was depopulated inevitably causing the closure of the school and of the shop.

The old shop was transformed into a cellar by the owner Giorgetti Umberto, it was here after hard work in the fields, the remaining inhabitants decided to commence the agriturismo of Ra Cànva da Berto.

You can dine with us at Ra Canva on our 12 Day Walks and Wonders Tour on May 13 to May 24, 2025 and
